We can provide services that will have your pet’s paws pristine and cut the nails so that they aren’t scratching or making noises on your hard wood. At Avon Animal Hospital we care about the overall health of your pets and trimming their nails is an important part of the care .
Nail trimming is essential for maintaining good health in your pet. If a pet’s nails are allowed to grow, they will curl over into a spiral shape; walking will become increasingly painful to the pet as they grow, putting pressure on the pet’s toes (a bit like walking in shoes that are too small). Uncut nails may curl so far that they pierce the paw pad, leading to infection and debilitating pain. If one does not trim a pet’s nails on a monthly basis the quick will grow along with the nail, making it nearly impossible to cut properly. Owners may choose to trim nails themselves or may opt to take their pet to a groomer or veterinarian. Cats and dogs which are not cooperative we offer these services under safe anesthetic protocols so you don’t get bitten or scratched by your pet and pet has not go through the stress of fighting so pls call us to make an appointment at 604-532-7600.
